How to perform a test with a Garmin® device?
Start taking care of your heart health by measuring your heart rate status with the Rithmi app and the data obtained from your compatible Garmin® watch.
Step 1. If you haven’t already done so, download and install the app on your cell phone and register as a Rithmi user. This will only take a few minutes.
Step 2. Check that your Garmin® device is compatible with the Rithmi app.
If your Garmin device is not compatible with the Rithmi App, you can take advantage of some of the current offers we have with Garmin devices or use Rithmi FlashCheck. Download the Rithmi application and you will be able to perform the arrhythmia tests from your own cell phone. If you want to know how Rithmi FlashCheck works click here.
Step 3. If you have already checked that your Garmin® device is compatible with Rithmi, start the application and click on the ‘Test with your Garmin®’ section.

Remember that you must allow Bluetooth access so that the application can receive data from external devices in the background and you can perform your first test with a Garmin® watch.
Step 4. Entering the ‘Test with your Garmin®’ section, the ‘Device Status’ screen will appear. Click on the ‘find device’ link to synchronize your Garmin® watch with your smartphone.
To be able to synchronize, you must have the Bluetooth option activated in the Bluetooth settings of your smartphone.
When pairing, your smartphone will recognize most Garmin® devices, but on older models you may need to manually enable watch connectivity in the watch settings so that your smartphone can find it.
Once you have synced your Garmin® watch with the app, you are ready to perform your first test.
Step 5. Before performing the test, carefully read all our recommendations.
Before starting the test, you should wear your wristband for at least two minutes. Check that it fits correctly on your wrist
Adopt a resting position for at least 5 minutes before taking the test.
Rest your arms on a table or flat surface.
During the test remain seated, do not talk and try to be as still as possible without making any movement with your arms.
Step 6. Once the test has started, you must wait the 30 seconds that the test lasts, knowing at the moment the result of your test.
Click on start test and wait the 30 seconds that the test lasts, without speaking and without making any movement with your arms.
Step 7. Obtaining the result. There are two possible results: Correct heart condition or possible abnormality detected.
- Correct heart condition: It means that your heart rate is regular and with the data obtained from the Garmin® device, Rithmi has not found any anomaly.

- Possible anomaly detected: Means that your heart rate is irregular and with the data obtained from the Garmin® device, Rithmi has detected a possible anomaly.

In the event of an anomaly result, we always recommend performing a second test in case it has not been performed correctly.
Sometimes, an anomaly result may appear if the test has not been performed correctly. Wearing the watch incorrectly adjusted, not having performed the test at rest or having made movements during the test may cause the interpretation of an irregular rhythm.
Before performing a second test: Remember to carefully read the above instructions on how to perform a test to obtain an optimal result.

In the event of a second abnormality, we recommend that you consult a physician so that he/she can make a proper diagnosis.
All tests performed will be stored in the history/reports section. You can access them whenever you want and download them to your cell phone. In addition, every week you will receive an email with a report of the results.
